Place paper, paint, and sponges on a table and invite your children to use their hands to transfer the sponges to the paper, stamping paint onto them. This week is Red, White, and Blue Camp and my daughter, Rachel, put together this fun idea. Toddlers and preschoolers love to stamp with various objects and paint. We’ve used empty spools,  sea sponges, and bubble wrap, just to name a few. So, when she cut kitchen sponges into sparkler shapes, the children couldn’t wait to get started. Such an easy way to make fireworks on paper! Kitchen sponge Tempera paint, blue and red Paper Setting up this activity: Pour red, white, and blue paint into separate containers and add a sponge in each one. Dip the sponge into the paint and then onto the paper. This 4th of July craft is great for working those fine motor skills. See how the hand has to hold the sponge while moving it? So simple and yet so fun!
