Oh, and I wanted a bit of extra fine motor going on, since we are always working on strengthening their hands and fingers. I didn’t want something cute and crafty. How to Make Homemade Watercolor Bags for an Easter Activity
What you will need to make your Easter bags:
Watercolors
Paint brushes or pipettes
Putting this activity together: Pour watercolors into cups and dilute with water for desired color. With our preschoolers, we used pipettes. Needing to squeeze the tip of the pipette to transfer the watercolors to the bags is a wonderful fine motor activity. With our toddlers, we used paint brushes. Assembling the Easter bags: Once the bags are completely dry, open the bags up and fold the top a couple of times. Then add some filler. Some years we make our own, putting colored paper through the shredder. Other years, we use commercial Easter basket filler. Cut colored paper into approximately 1 inch strips and staple them to the opening of the bag to make a handle.
