It’s been awhile since I’ve done bubble prints with my preschoolers. In fact, you might recall me talking about it here. We loved making mounds of colorful bubbles on white paper! So when I was thinking about how we could decorate white lunch sacks for our Mother’s Day gifts, I decided to give bubble painting a try.
White lunch sacks Liquid watercolors Bubble solution with wands
Getting started: Pour some bubble solution into cups. You will want a separate cup for each color. Then, add some liquid watercolor. Just eyeball how much you think you need. If you want a stronger color, add more of the watercolors. Add a wand to each cup and have the paper sacks ready to go. Since there aren’t many supplies that are needed, it was easy to haul the materials to our patio. I simply set the containers of colored bubbles on one of our outdoor play tables. They can start with one color, then add more. When they realized they were blowing colored bubbles during this activity, they were so excited! As each gift bag was finished, I set it on a different table to dry in the sun. Of course, this can all be done indoors. I was simply taking advantage of a gorgeous day of outdoor fun! (Read about it here: Photo Flower Magnet.) I love the children to part of every process, and this includes choosing the color of tissue paper, wrapping the gift in the paper, and then placing it inside the gift bag. We presented these gifts to our moms during our Muffins for Mommy event. I love standing back and watching smiles erupt from both the mommies and their children as the bags are carefully opened.
