15+ Spider Activities Your Preschoolers Will Love

Spiders! We love learning about them all year, but especially in the fall, as it gets close to Halloween. Each year I change things up a bit, so my spider collection keeps growing. This is my favorite collection of spider activities because there’s a little bit of everything – sensory, snacks, songs, fine motor, gross motor … and, of course, spider art! So check these out and let me know which ones you’ve tried! Spin Art Spiders – Use a salad spinner to create these fun spiders! Egg Carton Spider Craft – Recycle an egg carton to make these adorable spiders. Recycled CD Spider Craft – Dig up your old CDs that I’m sure aren’t being used anymore for your preschoolers to create these cute spiders. (Crafts on Sea) Toilet Paper Roll Spider Crafts – These toilet paper roll spiders can be used by your toddlers as either spider stamps on paper or painted to create 3D spiders, including several googley eyes. (Crafty Morning) Spider Headband Craft – All you need for these fun spider headbands is black paper and tons of googley eyes. (Fantastic Fun and Learning) Itsy Bitsy Spider Puppet – Download the free printable spider and create a puppet! Use as a prop while singing “Itsy Bitsy Spider”. I’m a Hungry Spider Song – This is a fun rhyming activity that also gets the children moving. Would be fun for circle time! (Growing Book by Book)

 

Spider Web Cutting Activity – Cutting straws is great for toddlers to strengthen their fine motor skills, and this art activity involves using the straw pieces to construct a spider web on paper. (Fun Learning for Kids) Incy Wincy Fine Motor Spider Activity – Threading pony beads on pipe cleaners is a great way to strengthen the thumb and fingers while making these fun spiders. (Teach Me Mommy) Spider Web Fine Motor Activity – Using yarn, plastic spiders, and a laundry basket, preschoolers will use their fine motor skills to retrieve the plastic spiders between the yarn in an Operation game-style-activity. (Fun Learning for Kids) Spider Do-a-Dot Printables – Download the free printables and add them to a tray with small gems for a fun fine motor experience. (Living Montessori Now) Spider Slime Recipe – Preschoolers will love helping to create this spider slime as well as playing with it for some fun sensory activity. (Coffee Cups and Crayons) Shaving Cream and Spiders Sensory Bin – Tint shaving cream orange and prepare the bin for a fun sensory experience. (My Bored Toddler) Spiders and Water Spouts – Recreate the finger play in your sand table using real water spouts and pretend spiders.
